Lifecycle Status

Allen-Bradley, a brand of Rockwell Automation, provides a Product Lifecycle Status tool to help users identify the current lifecycle stage of their products. This tool is essential for planning upgrades, replacements, and ensuring the longevity of automation systems.

Accessing the Product Lifecycle Status Tool:

Understanding Product Lifecycle Stages:

  • Active: The most current offering within a product category.
  • Active Mature: Product is fully supported, but a newer product or family exists.
  • End of Life: Discontinued date announced – actively execute migrations and last-time buys. Product generally orderable until the discontinued date.
  • Discontinued: New product no longer manufactured or procured. Repair/exchange services may be available.

Software/Firmware Version Lifecycle Statuses:

  • Preferred: What customers should adopt to stay current. Priority for addressing anomalies and operating system patch qualification testing.
  • Managed: What customers adopt to stay current if they cannot adopt Preferred versions due to hardware dependencies. May be updated for new Windows OS support.
  • Limited: Available to support customers who do not desire to stay current. Not a priority for anomaly resolutions.
  • Retired: Not available for download. Anomalies and Windows OS Support behaviors will not be addressed.
